The radical therapist you have been looking for

Finding a therapist is hard. Finding a therapist as a systemically oppressed person is even harder. As a woman of color, I struggled to find a therapist that could understand my context, my lived experience, my culture and the way they all come together to make navigating a world not meant for my success. I can be that therapist for you.

About

“Love is an action, never simply a feeling” - bell hooks

Making the choice to attend therapy is a brave one. It’s an act of vulnerability. It’s an act of love toward yourself, your lovers, & your loved ones. I strive to make warm & genuine connections with my clients as I support them in navigating all of the joy, grief, & everything in between that life brings us. I want to support you in nurturing your strengths & fostering your skills to navigate your day-to-day life in a way that is true to who you are. I use narrative & experiential therapies to help you identify how your past may be informing your present & to walk alongside you in re-authoring the stories you tell about yourself to help foster your growth. I am an intersectional feminist who believes that systems of oppression impact our mental & emotional well being, & I strive for a social justice focus in my practice. We must not learn to conform to our oppression, we must find & use our joy as an act of resistance towards systems that are relentless in their efforts to keep us marginalized. I am also a nationally recognized Fellow through the AAMFT Minority Fellowship Program, awarded to those who have demonstrated a commitment to supporting diverse & marginalized communities. I have a Masters degree Human Sexuality Education from Widener University, & am comfortable discussing difficult topics around sex, sexuality, & reproductive health. I appreciate humor in the face of life’s absurdities, honesty, finding new perspectives & identifying strengths. If this is what you are looking for in a therapist, please reach out to me.
